The nonprofit, organized for just eight months, has already bought a mobile shower unit with a $40,000 grant, bought supplies and a truck to pull it, and trained volunteers on how to use it.

Redlands Daily Facts: This Redlands group wants to help the homeless with mobile shower

Refresh & Renew, a newly formed nonprofit, wants to bring a shower unit to Redlands that will serve the homeless population in town. The group hopes to raise the $40,000 it needs to order the unit by December. It hopes to have it ready for use by April 2018.

Vernon Hoffs, president of the Redlands-based nonprofit, said it could be eight to 10 weeks to finalize paperwork, order the unit and build it.
